The 2024 6th International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition recently concluded in Xiong’an New Area, with KFVC’s delegation delivering an impressive performance. Under the joint organization of the KFVC League Committee and the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, a total of 20 teams participated in the quadruped robot challenge, a subcategory of the Skills Application Series. Their efforts earned them one national first prize, one second prize, and two third prizes in the small group division, as well as one national first prize, one second prize, and one third prize in the medium group division.

In the midst of the preparation, instructors meticulously devised a curriculum that delved into the core tenets of artificial intelligence. They tailored personalized learning pathways forthe students (contestants), guiding them through the intricacies of machine learning and deep learning algorithms, and imparting invaluable project experience. The contestants eagerly embraced the challenge, immersing themselves in theoretical knowledge and repeatedly refining their models through rigorous training and optimization. Both the college and the schoolprovided unwavering support, ensuring that participating teachers and students had access to all necessary resources and guidance.
The International Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition, a premier global event, is supported by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Global Collaboration Project Committee and the Xiong’an New Area Administrative Committee. Organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and several prominent regional bodies, the competition is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious AI contests for young innovators. This year, it attracted entries from over 200 universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Xi’an Jiaotong University. Teams presented cutting-edge projects spanning the latest advancements in AI, showcasing a spirit of ingenuity and ambition. The event aims to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds, providing a collaborative platform for addressing frontier challenges in robotics and AI while promoting the convergence of technology and culture.
This competition not only provided students with a practical platform but also stimulated their interest in artificial intelligence. The achievement of the competition results is the outcome of the joint efforts of all participants, and more importantly, it embodies the success of our school's goal of cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents with innovative consciousness and practical experience. Ourcollege will continue to leverage the positive role of “promoting teaching through competitions, enhancing learning through competitions, and improving skills through learning”, adhering to the talent cultivation philosophy of “fostering virtue through education, integrating moral and technical education”. We will constantly cultivate students’ innovative spirit, enhance their innovative practical abilities, and fully harness the promoting effect of skill competitions in talent cultivation, thereby providing talent support for the country’s high-quality development.
