Recently, students from Kaifeng Vocational College (KFVC) achieved a remarkable milestone by securing third prize in the national finals of the 2024 Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development& Technology Innovation Competition. This marks the first time KFVC students have earned recognition in such a digital competition, setting a new direction for participation in the Big Data Thinking and Skills Competition for Digital Humanities.

The BRICS competition was initiated in late 2016 by the Skills Development Working Group (China) of the BRICS Business Council and was primarily organized by the Belt and Road & BRICS Skills Development International Alliance. Since its inception in 2017, the competition has been successfully held six times, aiming to cultivate business students data thinking and data processing skills.

Following the competition announcement by the School of Digital Economy in late September, each class counselor actively mobilized their students to sign up for the competition. Under the guidance of Dean Zhu Xueqin, faculty members and instructors from JD Industry College devoted themselves to intensive training for the teams, preparing them for the preliminary round on October 27. After more than a month of rigorous practice, KFVC participating teams performed exceptionally well in the preliminaries, with two teams advancing to the national finals.

Over the subsequent four weeks, the two teams continually engaged in intensive and hard training. They adopted innovative approaches such as result-oriented and reverse logical thinking, enabling them to successfully analyze and reconstruct all competition data. In the national finals, the team consisting of Guo Ying, Chen Jinghua, Hou Caidie, and Chen Jiajia gloriously won the national third prize for KFVC.

This outstanding achievement reflects the students relentless hard work and dedication, as well as the unwavering guidance and efforts of our faculty. Our college will continue to uphold the educational philosophy of fostering virtue through education, integrating moral and technical education, further strengthening professional development, enhancing students competencies, and aligning talent cultivation with productive labor and social practice. We remain committed to nurturing highly skilled students who contribute meaningfully to society and its development.
