Recently, the final of the Third Campus Top Ten Singers Competition of Kaifeng Vocational College came to a successful conclusion at the Bisheng Building Lecture Hall. After a series of preliminary selections, ten finalists competed on the same stage, igniting youthful passion with their singing and presenting a splendid audio-visual feast for all teachers and students. Relevant school leaders, representatives of teachers and students from various departments, and judges and guests attended the event.
The atmosphere at the final was electric, with the lecture hall packed to capacity, transforming into a brilliant sea of glow sticks and placards. Accompanied by a dynamic light show and the cheers of the audience, the final officially kicked off. The contestants, dressed in carefully coordinated outfits, took to the stage with high spirits, performing a variety of genres including pop, folk, bel canto, and rock.
The final competition format was uniquely designed, with the ten contestants divided into five groups through a draw for the first round of head-to-head PK. Each group performed a designated song together. After their performances, based on a composite result of on-site audience online voting and judges’ scores, the winners advanced directly to the top six. The five group PKs were intensely competitive, with the contestants showcasing their strengths in hopes of advancing, offering the audience a delightful treat with different renditions of classic songs. After the five rounds, five contestants successfully advanced. Subsequently, the competition moved into a revival round, where the audience voted for the other five eliminated contestants. Ultimately, one contestant, with a high number of votes, was revived and joined the previous five winners to form the top six, advancing to the next stage.
Following the formation of the top six, the competition entered its ultimate showdown phase. The six contestants performed individually in sequence, striving for the championship, runner-up, and second runner-up titles. The contestants achieved comprehensive breakthroughs in singing techniques, stage presence, and emotional expression—some pouring out heartfelt emotions with deep affection, others igniting the atmosphere with vibrant energy, and still others demonstrating poise and sophistication with steady performances. Each song carried a unique appeal.
After multiple rounds of intense and gripping competition, the final rankings were determined based on the judges’ scores. One champion, one runner-up, and one second runner-up were selected, along with three winners of the “Online Popularity Award” and seven recipients of the “Top Ten Singers Award.” School leaders and judges presented honorary certificates and prizes to the winners, congratulating them on their musical talent and competitive spirit displayed during the contest. They also encouraged all students to persist in their artistic pursuits and devote themselves to their studies and lives with even greater enthusiasm.
This competition not only provided a dedicated platform for students passionate about music to showcase themselves but also used singing as a bridge to foster friendships through interaction and enhance artistic competence through competition, infusing the campus with vibrant youthful energy.
