Under a brilliant autumn sky, Kaifeng Vocational College illuminated its dual campuses tonight with the 2025 “Prosperity Inspires Song; Youth Vows to Serve the Nation” gala, a grand event merging National Day festivities with a warm welcome for the Class of 2025.
The ceremony was attended by Chairman Zheng Tiejun, President Xu Zhongkun, Party Secretary Chu Jianxin, and other senior university leaders. They were joined by distinguished community guests, faculty members, deans, and the entire incoming freshman class for an evening dedicated to unity, heritage, and ambition

In his opening remarks, Party Secretary Chu Jianxin extended a heartfelt welcome to the new students on behalf of the university leadership and staff. He reaffirmed the college’s core mission: “moral cultivation integrated with technical excellence.” Highlighting the institution’s strategy to align academic programs with local economic demands and deepen industry-education collaboration, Secretary Chu emphasized the goal of nurturing well-rounded professionals grounded in ethics, humanity, and practical skill. “Master your craft in the laboratory,” he urged, “and let your patriotism shine on the stage.”

The gala was structured around four thematic chapters:Gratitude & Integrity, Agile Action & Skill Refinement, Harmony in Diversity, and Nation & Global Community.
The performance opened with Map of Mountains and Rivers, where dancers from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing depicted China’s majestic landscapes through dynamic choreography. This was followed by Bianliang City, a musical drama weaving Kaifeng’s ancient history with the college’s five-year journey of integrity. The recitation The Path We Traveled honored the school’s origins, while the chorus New Kai Zhi celebrated its rapid growth. In a moving joint performance, graduates and current students presented Song of the Eldest Son, expressing enduring loyalty and a sense of responsibility.

Energy surged with Battle Show, a fashion fusion highlighting professional confidence;Jingwu Gate, a powerful martial arts display; and Chasing Victory, a rap anthem embodying the school motto,“Act Swiftly, Hone Abilities.” A standout moment occurred during Hi, Freshmen!, where freshman counselors surprised the audience with diverse talents ranging from traditional guzheng and erhu melodies to kung fu and intangible cultural heritage fire-breathing, effectively bridging the gap between faculty and students. A live lottery draw further elevated the excitement.

The “Harmony in Diversity” segment featured Meimei Sang, a dance symbolizing mutual appreciation;Teacher and Student, a vignette capturing the subtle bonds of the classroom;Future Style, a tech-infused exploration of youth innovation; and Harmony Under Heaven, a vocal ensemble promoting global inclusivity.

The evening concluded with patriotic anthems including Soul of the Nation and Victory Anthem, culminating in a collective rendition of Tomorrow Will Be Better.

More than mere entertainment, the gala served as a narrative of values: embedding gratitude as a foundational virtue, transforming agility into habit, framing harmony as a social compass, and anchoring patriotism as a spiritual guide. As the curtains fell, the message was clear: on the fertile ground of Kaifeng Vocational College, youthful dreams and the mission of vocational education are co-creating the prologue of a new era.
